The building is of wood-frame construction on a concrete slab <br /> foundation Exterior walls are finished with brick and interior walls are of conventional <br /> drywall construction. Most interior wall surfaces are wallpapered <br /> The building has 2,937 net rentable square feet and features a vault, teller counter, and a <br /> small second floor area accessed by a wooden staircase The floors are either carpeted or <br /> feature vinyl floor tiles The main Iobby area features a suspended ceiling with overhead <br /> fluorescent lighting Electrical conduits and HVAC ducts are present above the suspended <br /> ceiling tiles The ground floor also features an employee lunch room, electrical room, <br /> restrooms, storage closets, and a small utility room for the alarm and telephone system <br /> controls The second floor features a small file storage room, an HVAC equipment closet, <br /> and a small attic storage area Fiberglass insulation was observed lining the ceiling and <br /> exterior walls in the attic area The building is not equipped with automatic fire sprinklers <br /> According to information provided by Bank of the West, the building was constructed <br /> around 1976 and has never been remodeled Geosystem personnel collected a sample of <br /> the acoustic ceiling tile in the northwest corner of the main lobby area The sample was <br /> submitted to AMS-Natec, of Garden Grove, California, for asbestos content analysis using <br /> polarized light microscopy The certificate of analysis, as received from AMS-Natec, is <br /> included as Appendix A to this report The results indicate that the sample did not contain <br /> detectable amounts of asbestos. <br /> 2 3 REGIONAL GEOLOGY AND HYDROGEOLOGY <br /> The site is located near the northern boundary of the San Joaquin Valley, which constitutes <br /> the southern two-thirds of the Great Central Valley of California The San Joaquin Valley <br /> is bounded on the west by the Coast Range Mountains, to the east by the Sierra Nevada <br /> Mountains, to the south by the Tehachapi Mountains, and to the north by the Sacramento- <br /> San Joaquin Delta. The valley trends northwest to southeast and has an area of about <br /> 13,500 square miles.
