San Joaquin Street
P.O. Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
RE: BP Oil Site No. 11192
Site Code: 1995123
1403 Country Club Boulevard
Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Infurna:
I am writing in response to your letter dated April 14 , 1994 , and
to follow-up our recent telephone discussion. Several concerns
were listed in your letter, and I would like to respond to each
concern as they were raised.
First, I have attempted to keep the County informed of our
conclusions and plans for further work in the cover letters
accompanying the quarterly monitoring reports . As you know, MW-7
is the only well where fuel constituents have been detected in
the groundwater since the March, 1992 sampling event . We plan to
continue our monitoring efforts in order to obtain sufficient
data to tender a request for site closure .
You should note that Alisto Engineering Group is performing
groundwater monitoring activities at all of the BP sites located
in California. Turnaround for the reports is typically on the
order of 60-days . Given the scope of activities necessary to
complete sampling and reporting at all of our sites, we believe
that this is an appropriate length of time to all of the various
agencies in the State . If you disagree, please give me a call so
that we can discuss this matter further.
I understand that Alisto has been providing you with the advanced
notification that you have requested prior to mobilization, and
I expect this to continue . By copy of this letter to Alisto, I
am requesting that MW-1 be brought back into service for the next
monitoring report, and that the site map on the next quarterly
monitoring report include all of the traffic boxes at the site.
We anticipate submitting the report on or about September 1 .
This will require an extension to the time frame set forth in
your April 14 letter. I trust that this will be acceptable.
