BP OIL n BP Oil Company
C! iC-3 16400 Southcenter Parkway,Suite 301
ENVIRONMENTALHEALTH (2 6)1575-40779ton98188
PERMIT/SERVICES
April 28, 1993
Public Health Services
Attention Ms. Laurie A. Cotulla - Program Manager
1601 East Hazelton Avenue, P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
RE: BP Oil Site No. 11192
Site Code 1995123
„1403 Country Club Boulevard
Stockton, CA 95204
Dear Ms. Cotulla:
This letter responds to your March 12 , 1993 correspondence.
By copy of this letter, I am instructing Alisto Engineering to
notify Mr. Michael Infurna of San Joachin County Public Health
services - prior to our scheduled groundwater monitoring and
sampling activities. Monitoring and sampling will continue in
accordance with the schedule established by Alisto Engineering.
As' these activities are performed by experienced personnel under
the direct supervision of a licensed, professional engineer, it
is unclear how the presence of San Joachin County personnel will
enhance assessment and remediation activities at this site.
Please advise. j
At this point, we must decline your request to submit a workplan
to close monitoring wells 1, 3 and 4. We believe that it is
appropriate to maintain these wells, as the area appears to be
emerging from drought conditions. As the local water levels
rise, these wells will be utilized to evaluate the local
--groundwater flow regime. This will occur in conjunction with our
regularly-scheduled groundwater monitoring activities. We trust
that you will find this acceptable.
Please contact me at your convenience in the event you have
additional questions or concerns.
Sinc ely,
Scott T.
