Soil
contamination is present in the northeast tank pit(total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G), 3500
parts per million (ppm); toluene, 80 ppm; ethylbenzene 1130 ppm; and xylenes, 520 ppm). IT Corporation
proposes to remediate this area and the waste/motor oil UST pit by re-excavating the contaminated soil.
Disposal and/or treatment has not been addressed.
A work plan to achieve this task should include the following:
1. Estimated volume to be excavated.
2. A detailed sampling plan which follows`Tri-Regional Guidelines.
3. A grid map showing sample locations.
4. Estimated date for backfilling the excavation.
5. Site/task specific health and safety plan.
6. Method of waste disposal or treatment.
i
This work plan should be submitted by March 21, 1991. An additional work plan to define the extent of
soil and groundwater contamination should be submitted to San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division and to the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB)
by April 5, 1991.
If you have any questions contact Eleanor Ratliff, REHS,.of my staff st (209)468-3454.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health Off
aurie A.
