Box 388 Stockton, CA 95201-0388 RE: BP Oil Site No. 11192 1403 Country Club Blvd. Stockton, CA 95204 Dear Mr. Infurna: This letter transmits a Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling Report, dated June 18, 1996 and responds to correspondence from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services dated October 31, 1995 and March 11, 1996. Groundwater Monitoring Report The enclosed report summarizes chemical data and groundwater elevation measurements collected from seven wells, beginning during May, 1990. The enclosed report shows that benzene was detected in wells MW-3 and MW-1 at concentrations of 5.1 µg/L and 1.0 µg/L, respectively. Ethylbenzene (10 µg/L) and mixed xylenes (5 µg/L)were also detected in a sample obtained from MW-3. Benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, mixed xylenes, and total petroleum hydrocarbons(as gasoline) were not detected in any of the other samples obtained after the wells were purged. Based on the data collected over the last six years, I believe you can agree that: • the leak has been stopped and ongoing sources, including free product, have been removed or remediated; • the site has been adequately characterized; • the dissolved hydrocarbon plume is not migrating; no water wells, deeper drinking water aquifers, surface water, or other sensitive receptors are likely to be impacted; • the site presents no significant threat to human health; and, • the site presents no significant risk to the environment.
