7/12/96
Mr. Michael Infurna
Page 2
Taken in aggregate, I believe that the data supports a determination of"no further action"
and a letter of case closure.
You may note that groundwater samples were collected before and after well purging.
This information will be used to evaluate the efficacy of well purging practices for
petroleum hydrocarbon sites. This study is being conducted under the auspices of the
Western States Petroleum Association. Let me know if you are interested in seeing the
results of this work, and I'll send you a copy of the report.
October 31, 1995 Letter
By copy of this letter to Mr. Brady Nagle of Alisto Engineering Group, be certain that all
report drawings show the existing and former configuration of the site, and the
identification of traffic boxes. Also, forward your recommendations for vault repairs
necessary to ensure the collection of representative data to assess the extent of the
release.
March 11, 1996 Letter
First, please note that BP will attempt to keep your office informed of conclusions and
plans for future work in the cover letters accompanying the quarterly monitoring reports.
Your letter also included seven minimum information requirements for quarterly
reporting. I will take this opportunity to provide it, or explain why it may not be
necessary or applicable at this particular site.
Status of the investigation and cleanup activities including the results of all
investigations completed to date.
The status of this investigation is groundwater monitoring. Results will be provided in
written reports, with plans for future work described in the accompanying cover letter.
Please consider this the status quo unless you receive different information in the future-
Proposed,
uture.
Pro osed continuing, or next phase of investigation.
P g
The investigation at this time consists of quarterly groundwater monitoring. Well MW-7
is sampled quarterly, with the remaining wells sampled semi-annually. At this time, we
would like to receive a determination of case closure and a letter of"no further action".
If the San Joaquin County Public Health Services cannot grant this request at this time,
please give me a call and let me know what is necessary to close this site. At a minimum,
it seems to me that a reduction in the frequency of sampling and reporting is warranted.
