Visitors to the site <br /> shall abide by the following: <br /> All visitors shall be instructed to stay outside the work zone and <br /> remain within the clean zone during the extent of their stay. <br /> Visitors shall be cautioned to avoid skin contact with contaminated <br /> or suspected contaminated surfaces. during visitation, hand-to-mouth <br /> 3..� transfers should be reduced with special precautions not to eat, <br /> drink, smoke, or chew gum or tobacco. The use of alcohol or medicine <br /> a� in the container zones is prohibited. <br /> • Visitors requesting to observe work conducted in the exclusion zone <br /> must wear all appropriate personnel protective devices before enter- <br /> ing the contaminated zone. Visitors will be required to sign in and <br /> out of the job site. If respiratory protective devices are neces- <br /> sary, visitors who wish to enter the contaminated zone must produce <br /> evidence that they have had a complete physical examination and <br /> i respiratory protection training, including respiratory fitting, <br /> within the past 12 months. Visitor must provide their own respira- <br /> tory protection. The wearer must pass a qualitative fit test before <br /> entry will be permitted. <br /> Visitor inspection of the contaminated zone will be left to the <br /> discretion of the Field Supervisor. <br /> 4.7.3 Delineated Zone General Rules <br /> A controlled access to the exclusion or contamination reduction zones will be <br /> established. Only authorized personnel shall be permitted to enter these <br /> delineated areas. No one will enter the exclusion or the contamination reduc- <br /> tion zones without appropriate authorization. The following shall be followed <br /> u by individuals entering the regulated work areas: <br /> • An area in the decontamination zone shall be designated as the break <br /> area. <br /> • Hand washing facilities may be provided in the immediate work area <br /> for employees who may come into contact with contaminated materials. <br /> -~ All entry to and exit fr'�m the decontamination zone shall be strictly <br /> controlled. <br /> • The Field Supervisor shall monitor the effectiveness of the decon- <br /> tamination procedures and, if found ineffective, sha'il take appro- <br /> priate steps to correct any deficiencies or modify the plan if <br /> needed. <br /> 0-i5 <br /> -A:ENG:9204-AppD/031191 <br /> ;r <br />
