Data submitted to EHD from this ground water interim remedial action
supported conclusions that GWE could be a cost-effective and feasible remedial action.
The CAP proposes continued use of GWE and filter system with discharge of the
treated water to the sanitary sewer under a current and valid discharge permit. The
system will be augmented with sediment control poly aeration tank
The CAP is adequate and necessary [H&S 25296.10(c)(3)] and tentatively approved by
EHD.
California Under Ground Storage Tank (UST) Regulations [CCR, Title 23, Section
2728(x)] require that sites entering into a corrective action provide notice to the public
and allow a period of time for the public to comment. If no objections to the CAP are
received at EHD during the public comment period, the tentatively approved corrective
action plan can be fully approved. If there is sufficient public interest and if any member
of the public requests, EHD may hold a public meeting to discuss the site and address
the public's concerns.
Please provide EHD with a single page Executive Summary. The summary should be
written on non-letterhead white paper and formatted in non-technical language for ease
of understanding by the general public. Included in the summary should be an
explanation of past and current uses of the site, what is proposed for remediation and
an estimate of the period of time the remediation will occur.
