DRILLING AND SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> MW6 arra MW7 AREAS <br /> Sample borings will be drilled within five feet and prior to drilling and installing monitor <br /> wells MW6 and MW7 A licensed drilling contractor using a mobile rig equipped with 8- <br /> inch diameter hollow stem augers will perform all drilling The sample borings will be <br /> continuously cored from the five foot depth to total depth This will aid in the <br /> determination for the placement of the screen interval of the wells The rig equipment <br /> and augers will be steam cleaned before and after the drilling Sampling equipment will <br /> be washed with a solution of TSP and rinsed in distilled water between each sampling <br /> interval <br /> The sample borings will be drilled to a total depth of 40 feet bgs Relatively undisturbed <br /> soil samples will be collected from each cored interval 3 inch internal diameter by 4 foot <br /> length split spoon sampler A geologist will prepare a boring log that documents the soil <br /> samples collected and the materials encountered at each interval Soil samples will be <br /> collected in 1-inch X 6 inch clean stainless steel from selected intervals of each cored <br /> section The soil samples will be field screened for the presence of odor, vapor, and <br /> visible staining In addition, each sample will be field-screened for total volatile organic <br /> vapors with a photo-ionizing detector(PID) equipped with a 10 2 EV lamp <br /> R1 <br /> Recovery well R1 will be drilled by a licensed drilling contractor using a mobile rig <br /> ivquipped with 10-inch diameter hollow stem augers The boring will be continuously <br /> cored from the five-foot depth to total depth This will aid in the determination for the <br /> placement of the screen interval of the well The rig equipment and augers will be <br /> steam cleaned before and after the drilling Sampling equipment will be washed with a <br /> solution of TSP and rinsed in distilled water between each sampling interval <br /> Recovery well R1 will be drilled to a total depth of 30 feet bgs Relatively undisturbed <br /> soil samples will be collected from each cored interval 3 inch internal diameter by 4 foot <br /> length split spoon sampler A geologist will prepare a boring log that documents the soil <br /> samples collected and the materials encountered at each interval Soil samples will be <br /> collected in 1-inch X 6 inch clean stainless steel from selected intervals of each cored <br /> section The soil samples will be field screened for the presence of odor, vapor, and <br /> visible staining In addition, each sample will be field-screened for total volatile organic <br /> vapors with a photo-ionizing detector(PID) equipped with a 10 2 EV <br /> COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF HYDROPUNCH GROUNDWATER SAMPLES <br /> Two groundwater samples will be collected from the sample borings drilled near MW6 <br /> and MW7 at 35 and 40 feet bgs using hydropunch technology These samples will be <br /> collected to establish the vertical extent of groundwater contamination at a distance from <br /> 5 <br />
