have resulted in significant reductions in the magnitude of contamination beneath the Kwikee <br /> property as well, and the contamination is now limited to the southwestern quarter of the site. <br /> Concentrations have been declining at a rate of 30-40% each quarter in most wells at both sites, and <br /> although these rates may slow as the remediation nears completion, the active system at the <br /> Chevron has clearly had a beneficial impact at the Kwikee site and should not be interfered with. <br /> Therefore, any additional work at the Kwikee site should be limited to monitoring of water depths <br /> and groundwater concentrations. These efforts should further be limited to the western portion of <br /> the site, where contamination is still present, although at relatively low levels. Wells in the eastern <br /> portion of the site should be plugged and abandoned in accordance with County regulations. <br /> 2 <br />
