(Blaine Tech),to describe the results of groundwater monitoring that was performed at <br /> the subject site on May 16, 1996. <br /> During their May site visit,Blaine Tech gauged and sampled all twelve site-related wells. Groundwater <br /> elevations continue to be the highest measured in site history. The measured direction of groundwater <br /> flow was generally east-northeast under a hydraulic gradient of 0.005 f/fL All groundwater samples were <br /> analyzed for the presence of TPHGas and BTEX constituents. There were no detectable concentrations of <br /> dissolved hydrocarbons measured at wells MW-5 and MW-10 through MW-12. The concentrations of <br /> dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons detected at the remaining site wells were consistent with those detected <br /> during previous site monitoring events.However,the recent increases in benzene concentrations observed <br /> at wells MW-1 and MW-2,in conjunction with increases in groundwater elevation,contirm the presence <br /> of leachable hydrocarbons in soil at those corresponding depths. <br /> ff you have any questions or comments, I can be reached at(510)842-8695. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> /J ), Z*— <br /> Brett L.
