2) Regarding the figures 8 & 9 , we see your point about how not closing the contours could look less
impactful . However, after much forethought, we felt that leaving them open ended more accurately
illustrates on-site and off-site conditions due to concentrations observed at either end of the 2103
Country Club property.
3) Regarding the lack of recommendations in the GWMR, the new wells (MW-13B & MW-14B) were
proposed but not installed during the First Semi-Annual GWM reporting period. Therefore, we did
not have any additional information regarding plume delineation to the NNE to report. I can assure
you that the forthcoming site assessment and well installation report (due end of November 2010)
will have comments regarding plume delineation and recommendations for future activities .
4 ) Regarding the lack of discussion around additional plume definition , reaching WQOs, reducing
mass, cleaning up the site, and long/short term goals , I recall a conversation we had around the
following options :
a. We discussed mechanical remediation; however, being down gradient from Boulevard
Auto we need to see their system design drawing so that we can build our system to work
with it and not against it. This idea is based largely on the last system that operated at the
site and extended the extent of the plume .
b. We also discussed interim in-situ remediation in the form of sulfate injection ; however, you
preferred to see it permitted and the results reported based on the planned injections at
LOP Case #1181 before allowing us to submit an IRAP for this site.
I hope that this response addresses the general concerns you have. It is my belief that the forthcoming
Site Assessment Report pertaining to the recently installed wells will reiterate the points above and provide
additional information about plume delineation and future work scopes. Feel free to call us if you have any
additional questions about the responses above.
Thank you ,
Stephanie McKenna
Project Manager - Marketing Business Unit
smcken na@chevr_on .com
Every Task. .. Up to a T drop in one , and less in others . Please ensure ALL of the
wells have levels of hardened grout inside the boxes . TOP off all/any as needed before
the next sampling event please. grout should be INSIDE the traffic box, and for wells
i
11 /18/2010
