999 additionally , if you are granted adding this 2' of bentonite OUTSIDE of the
cc at the bottom , you ' ll have to modify the drawing to reflect that. As it is
in this attachment you sent, NO bentonite is shown .
Your current drawing is OK fine for the EHD now-- NO bentonite outside
the cc shown . either match the drawing to your narrative to add bent, or
change your narrative to match the drawing .
thanks .
N From : Myers, Tonya [mailto:Tonya. Myers@arcadis-us.com]
Sent: Thursday, March 25, 2010 3 : 55 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: RE : WP or Chevron 94054
Hi Mike ,
Please find attached an updated figure detailing the well completion details . The
remainder of your concerns have been addressed below.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns regarding the
proposed field work .
i
l Thank you ,
Tonya
i
From : Mike Infurna [EH] [mailto : MInfurna@sjcehd .com]
Sent: Thursday, March 25, 2010 10 : 49 AM
To: Myers, Tonya
Cc: Evans, David
Subject: WP or Chevron 94054
Tonya , David ,
Tonya , I dont' think I got my message across properly in our recent
phone call with my concerns about the conductor case grouting .
The work plan narrative section 3 . 6 . 1 calls out, "the space between
the wall of the borehole and the outside of the conductor casing will
p be sealed at the _base of the casing with approximately 2 feet of
i bentonite chips. GROUT will then be tremied into the space to seal
the REMAINDER of the casing up to approximately 1 foot bgs. "
The bentonite at the bottom is really not needed since most
conductor casings are installed so they end in a non -permeable/clay
lense . I will allow it if you explain why you need it rather than just
filling the annulus with neat cement grout . I proposed sealing the base
of the casing with approximately 2 of bentonite chips to allow for an additional
seal . I realize that the casing will be set in a non-permeable layer however
the bentonite chips will allow for additional protection .
3/29/2010
