CPTs "P-14" thru "P-16" were
advanced to 100 feet below ground surface ('bgs) in August 2006. Soil samples
were not collected during this phase.
Twelve ground water grab samples were collected and analyzed for petroleum
hydrocarbons. Laboratory analyses indicate that benzene, Ethylbenzene, and
xylenes were detected in boring "P-14' between 65' and 69 'bgs. The previous CPT
investigation conducted in July 2005 indicated that ground water grab samples from
CPT boring "P-11", just northwest of P-14, also were impacted by petroleum
hydrocarbons at this depth.
The Report included recommendations to install one offsite deep-screened
monitoring well between borings CPT boring P-11 and P-15 yet three monitoring
wells were proposed on Oxford Avenue (Figure 2). Additionally, recommendations
included installing at least one onsite ground water extraction well in the vicinity of
monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-10. A ground water extraction feasibility test was
also recommended so that an evaluation of this method as a potential remedial
action could be made.
On December 29, 2006, the EHD met with your consultant to discuss the status of
the site and the proposals included in the Plan.
