Mr. John Parker `w
Boulevard Auto
2151 Country Club Blvd., Stockton
The EHD was concerned that the petroleum plume was not laterally or vertically
defined and that the proposals included did not adequately address this concern.
After discussing the concerns in detail, the following items were agreed upon:
• Seven (7) monitoring wells are to be installed in hydrological unit (HU) 2 and
six (6) monitoring wells were to be installed in HU-4. A work plan for the
installations is to be submitted to the EHD by January 19, 2007 and,
• A vapor intrusion evaluation (sampling) work plan is to be submitted to the
EHD by January 19, 2007.
Also discussed at the meeting was your consultant's recommendation to conduct a
ground water extraction (GWE) feasibility/pilot test to evaluate this potential remedial
option. The recommendation included installing at least one GWE well, conducting a
pumping test, and evaluating the findings in a report to be submitted to the EHD.
The EHD agreed that this recommendation could be warranted in the near future but
would require the agreed upon monitoring well installations to be completed prior to
conducting this test. If your consultant feels that GWE testing is still warranted,
please submit a feasibility study to the EHD that discusses and compares the
details, cost, time requirements and technical justifications for multiple remedial
alternatives that could work at this site. If your consultant feels that the ground water
petroleum plume is unstable or threatening a drinking water (well, surface supply,
etc), please have them include a technical justification in support of interim remedial
action (TRAP).
Thank you again for your cooperation in the required investigation for this site. You
may contact Michael Infurna at (209) 468-3454 should you have any questions or
wish to discuss the site. Mr. Infurna can be reached by electronic mail at
minfurna(a-)sicehd.com.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Ezz Hea h Depa ent
Michael J. Infurna r., Senior REHS Nuel C.
