13 July 2012
AGE-NC Project No.96-0236
17,000 pg/I benzene, 6,900 pg/I toluene, 3,200 pg/I ethylbenzene and 23,500 pg/I
total xylenes (MW-4).
• TAME and 1,2-DCA were detected from wells MW-1A, MW-2, MW-4 and DPE-1 at
maximum concentrations of 21 pg/I and 54 pg/I, respectively (MW-4).
• Various metals/anions were reported in all samples analyzed for these constituents
and are summarized in Tables 4 and 5. During the 02 May 2012 sampling event,
slight increases and decreases in metal and ion concentrations were noted.
Chromium and hexavalent chromium were not reported in samples collected during
the 02 May 2012 post-ISCO monitoring event.
4.2.4. Post-ISCO Injection Monitoring Event No. 3: Analytical Results
On 09 May 2012, post injection ground water samples were collected from wells MW-1 A,
MW-2, MW-4, DPE-1 and DPE-2 to evaluate the effectiveness of the ISCO pilot test. The
following is a summary of the results:
• TPH-g were detected in all five samples at concentrations ranging from 1,100 pg/I
(DPE-2) and 280,000 pg/I (MW-4).
• BTEX constituents were detected in samples collected from all five samples at
maximum concentrations of 17,000 pg/I benzene, 6,800 pg/I toluene, 2,800 pg/I
ethylbenzene and 21,900 pg/I total xylenes (MW-4).
• TAME and 1,2-DCA were detected in wells MW-1A, MW-2, MW-4 and DPE-1 at
maximum concentrations of 40 pg/I and 110 pg/I, respectively (MW-4).
• Various metals/anions were reported in all samples analyzed for these constituents
and are summarized in Tables 4 and 5. Notably, cobalt, copper, nickel and zinc
were reported in well DPE-1. Further, ammonia was reported in wells MWAA and
DPE-1 for the first time since initiation of pre- and post-ISCO monitoring. All other
metal and anion concentrations were generally within reported post-pilot test
concentration ranges. Chromium and hexavalent chromium were not reported in
samples collected during the 09 May post-ISCO monitoring event.
4.2.5. Post-ISCO Injection Monitoring Event No. 4: Analytical Results
On 16 May 2012, post injection ground water samples were collected from wells MW-1A,
MW-2, MW-4, DPE-1 and DPE-2 to evaluate the effectiveness of the ISCO pilot test.
