.I
I
N)GA-ROVERS Mr. Michael hrfuma
& ASSOCIATES November 26, 2008 -
Laboratory Analyses: Selected soil samples and groundwater samples will be collected and
analyzed by a State-certified laboratory for the constituents of concern.
Well Development and Sampling: Blaine Tech Services, Inc. (Blaine) of San Jose, California
will develop the wells prior to sampling or injection events.
Wellhead Survey Activities: Following injection well installation, a licensed surveyor will
survey the latitude/longitude to NAD83, and well head elevation to mean sea level in compliance
with AB2886 (Geotracker) requirements.
Report Preparation: Following the receipt of analytical results from the laboratory, CRA will
prepare a written report, which will include field procedures, laboratory results, boring logs, and
conclusions.
ISCO INJECTION
Equipment: The equipment necessary to perform ISCO is a mixing tank with secondary
containment, mixing equipment, and delivery hoses and fittings.
Permits: CRA will submit a notice of intent (NOI) to comply with the terms of General Waste
Discharge Requirements Order No. R5-2008-0149 to the California Regional Water Quality
Control Board of the Central Valley Region.
Site Health and Safety Plan: Pursuant to OSHA and Shell requirements, CRA will prepare a
comprehensive site safety plan to protect site workers. The plan will be kept on site during field
activities and will be reviewed and signed by each site worker. Air monitoring will be conducted
using a photo-ionization detector during injection events. Appropriate personal protective
equipment will be used to ensure that hydrogen peroxide solution does not come into contact with
bare skin or the eyes as it can produce burns. If frothing, bubbling, or steam production occurs as
the solutions are injected, injection will be slowed or halted until the reaction subsides.
Groundwater Monitoring: Various gauging and monitoring activities are proposed in relation to
the injection events, and are detailed as follows:
• Baseline Monitoring Event: Baseline samples will be collected and analyzed as part of
the bench-test treatability study. Dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, and oxygen reduction
potential (ORP) will be field measured. Samples will be analyzed for total dissolved
solids, metals, electrical conductivity, sulfate, TPHg, BTEX, MTBE, and TBA.
240783 6
Worldwide Engineering, Environmental, Construction, and IT Services
