Wastewater application areas (e.g. furrows) shall be allowed to dry for at least 72 hours <br /> from the end of each wastewater application. <br /> 9. The land application facility shall have sufficient capacity to accommodate allowable <br /> wastewater flow, design seasonal precipitation, and ancillary inflow and infiltration. <br /> Design seasonal precipitation shall be based on total annual precipitation using a return <br /> period of 100 years, distributed monthly in accordance with historical rainfall patterns. <br /> 10. Application of wastewater to the land application area shall be performed in <br /> accordance with the approved Operation and Maintenance Plan required by Provision <br /> G.Ld. <br /> 11. There shall be no standing water in the disposal area 24 hours after wastewater is <br /> applied, except during periods of heavy rains sustained over two or more consecutive <br /> days. <br /> 12. Discharge to the designated disposal area shall be managed to minimize erosion and <br /> runoff. <br /> 13. The wastewater application shall not occur within 100-feet of an irrigation, domestic, <br /> or industrial supply well. <br /> 14. The resulting effect of the wastewater discharge on the soil pH shall not exceed the <br /> buffering capacity of the soil profile. <br /> 15. The land application areas shall be managed to prevent breeding of mosquitoes. More <br /> specifically: <br /> a. All applied wastewater shall infiltrate within 24 hours after application. <br /> b. Low-pressure and unpressurized pipelines accessible to mosquitoes shall not be <br /> used to store wastewater. <br /> c. Ditches and low spots must be maintained free of emergent, marginal, or floating <br /> vegetation. <br /> E. Solids Disposal Requirements: <br /> 1. Collected screenings, grit, sludge, and other solids removed from liquid wastes shall <br /> be disposed of in a manner approved by the Executive Officer, and consistent with <br /> Consolidated Regulations for Treatment, Storage, Processing, or Disposal of Solid <br /> Waste, as set forth in Title 27, CCR, Division 2, Subdivision 1, Section 20005, et seq. <br /> 2. Storage, use and disposal of domestic wastewater sludge shall comply with existing <br /> Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, including pennitting requirements and <br /> technical standards included in 40 CFR Part 503 and the Statewide General Order for <br /> the Discharge of Biosolids (Water Quality Order No. 2000-10-DWQ) (or any <br /> subsequent document which replaces Order No. 2000-10-DWQ). <br />
