i
Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan 3
The Southland Corporation-Store#20632 4627 Da Vinci Drive,Stockton,CA November 30,1998
Portland Type 1/II cement to 5 gallons of clean water. The wellhead will be protected at the surface by a
locking, expandable cap and traffic-rated street box(with watertight bolted lid)set in concrete. The well will
be used to characterize the extent of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons beneath the site.
Following installation, the monitoring well will be developed by hand bailing to remove fine-grained
sediments from the well and filter pack. Water from the development process will be containerized and
temporarily stored on site in DOT-approved 55-gallon drums.
The top of casing of the well will be professionally surveyed relative to a mean sea level datum. The newly
installed well, along with all site-related monitoring wells, will be monitored to measure static liquid levels
during the fourth quarter groundwater sampling and monitoring event. Liquid levels will be monitored using
a field instrument that distinguishes between water and petroleum products.
Following monitoring, field instruments will be used to determine dissolved oxygen levels in the well.
Approximately three well casing volumes of water will be purged from the well prior to sampling. During
purging, pH,temperature, and conductivity of purged water will be measured until measurements have
stabilized. Groundwater samples will be collected from the well. Collected groundwater samples will be
analyzed by a State-certified analytical laboratory for BTEX, MTBE, and TPH-G by EPA methods
8020/8015 modified, and the oxygenates:TBA,MTBE,DIPE,ETBE,TAME by EPA Method 8260.
TASK 4: REPORT-PREPARATION/SCHEDULING
Fluor Daniel GTI will prepare a report summarizing the data collected under the scope of work detailed
above. The report will document the methods and results of the work, summarize laboratory analytical
results, and include appropriate maps. The report will also document field work and results of the fourth
quarter monitoring and sampling event, and the recent underground storage tank removal at the site.
Field work will commence following written regulatory agency approval of this scope of work.
I.
I
I
I
20632wkp.@r
FLUOR DANIEL GTI
