(Fluor Daniel GTI) submits this letter on behalf of The Southland Corporation <br /> (Southland) as a work plan to conduct a Pre-Tank=Relining Soil Assessment at the subject site <br /> (Attachment 1). This Soil Assessment Work Plan is submitted in response to a telephone conversation with <br /> the San Joaquin County Department of Health Services (SJCDHS) on January 21, 1997. As part of the <br /> SJCDHS Tank Relining requirements, collection and.analyses of soil samples from beneath the ends of <br /> each underground storage tank(UST) is required prior to permit approval for tank relining. The scope of <br /> work includes advancing six angled borings to a vertical depth of 15 feet below ground surface (BGS) <br /> beneath the ends of each of the three underground storage tanks (USTs) at the site. <br /> I <br /> -TASK 1: SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN/PERMITTING <br /> I <br /> A site-specific Health and Safety Plan will be prepared by Fluor Daniel GTI as required by the <br /> Occupational Safety and Health,Administration (OSHA) Standard-"Hazardous Waste Operations and <br /> Emergency Response"guidelines (29 CFR1910.120).
