All borings will be backfilled with neat cement grout pursuant to San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Department(EHD)guidelines. <br /> 4.0 FIELD PROCEDURES <br /> 4.1 SITE PREPARATION <br /> Condor will obtain the necessary drilling permits from EHD prior to scheduling field activities with the <br /> sub-contractors and notifying Underground Services Alert(USA). <br /> The proposed boring locations will be marked with white paint and USA will be notified at least 48 hours <br /> in advance of the fieldwork to locate and identify underground utilities in and near the work area. In <br /> addition, a private utility locator will be contracted to scan and identify potential subsurface piping and <br /> other anomalies, such as any remaining USTs. <br /> Prior to initiating fieldwork at the Site, all field personnel will familiarize themselves with the Site- <br /> Specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP) and a tailgate safety meeting will be held prior to <br /> commencement of fieldwork on location. The HASP pertains to field activities and includes information <br /> on potential hazards expected to be encountered at the Site,personal protective equipment, and directions <br /> to and telephone numbers for the nearest hospital. A copy of the HASP is included in Appendix B. <br /> 4.2 GROUNDWATER SAMPLING METHODOLOGY <br /> Condor proposes drilling and collecting groundwater samples from three (3) locations in and on around <br /> areas where potential contamination exists. Borings will be advanced using a Geoprobe direct push <br /> drilling company licensed by the State of California (C-57 license). Groundwater samples will obtained <br /> by advancing the direct push boring until groundwater is encountered in the subsurface. A temporary well <br /> will be set using PVC piping with a 5-foot screen set within the water column. A 1/8-inch tubing with a <br /> check value tip will be inserted into PVC pipe or tubing with peristaltic pump to obtain grab groundwater <br /> samples. <br /> Each groundwater sample retained for laboratory analyses will be labeled, placed in chilled coolers, and <br /> transported under chain-of-custody procedures to California State Certified Laboratory. <br /> 5.0 LABORATORY ANALYSES <br /> Groundwater samples will be analyzed for volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including PCE. <br /> Laboratory detection limits will be sufficient for comparison to regulatory thresholds. A 10-day <br /> laboratory turnaround time will be requested. <br /> 6.0 REPORTING <br /> Condor will evaluate the laboratory analytical results, qualify the data, and compare results to regulatory <br /> screening thresholds. Condor will prepare a report detailing the investigation including: detailed geologic <br /> logs, laboratory analytical results, and conclusions/recommendations. The deliverables will include one <br /> electronic copy of the report and up to three hard copies, if requested.
