Durham Ferry Rd., Tracy
Good morning Vicky,
I am contacting you in regards to the George's Service site located at 1600 W. Durham Ferry Rd.southeast of
Tracy. I would like to let you know that we will be installing the air sparge wells on Friday,June 21 starting at 7
am.
AS-5 location
Upon looking at pictures of the soil excavation, it appears the excavation sidewall parallel to the sites building
came within 2 or 3 feet of the building foundation at a slope of about 45 degrees. The revised location of AS-5
will be as close to the building as the drill rig will allow(^'4-5 feet) and should initially begin in the excavation fill
and enter the native soil below prior to 5 feet bgs.Soil samples will be collected from tAS-5 borehole every
five feet starting at 5 feet bgs. S G f eGn 2,2-. 4'"y S
 5cr 2` -
Monthly performance monitoring 3
GZA is currently collecting DO and ORP readings from select ground ter monitoring well including down-
gradient off-site well MW-106. We are currently having trouble get mg an access agree ent from the property
owner and would like to begin monitoring down-gradient well MW-7 rather than MW-106. In addition,as shown
in a cross section (Figure 4A) of the Geoprobe Site Investigation work plan dated September 18,2008, MW-7 is
screened within the sand layer that extends down-gradient from beneath the site and is being treated by the AS
system (20-25' bgs).As shown in Figure 4C of the same report, MW-106 is screened in a deeper sand layer(>30'
bgs)that is not being treated by the air sparge system and therefore is not providing useful data.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I can be reached in the office at(209)522-4119 or on
my cell phone (559)410-3858.
Thank you,
Andrew Dorn
Ground Zero Analysis, Inc.
4P Geological Technics
1172 Kansas Ave,Suite A
Modesto, CA 95351
(209)522-4119
andrewd@gtienv.com
gti@gtienv.com
6/20/2013
