(Ground
Zero), proposed a reduction of recording data associated with operation and maintenance
(O&M) of the soil vapor extraction (SVE) and air sparge (AS) systems and the sampling
schedule at the above-referenced site. "In an effort to be more cost effective", Ground Zero
proposed the following:
• Reduce O&M of the SVE/AS system and associated recording activities from twice per
month to monthly;
• Reduce monthly monitoring of dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH, electrical conductivity
and oxidation/reduction potential readings to quarterly to assess the performance and
effectiveness of the SVE/AS system;
• Continue quarterly groundwater monitoring for one year after installing one additional air
sparge well (AS-7) and four vapor extraction wells (VEW-3 through VEW-6); and
• Reduce groundwater monitoring from quarterly to semi-annually after one year of
monitoring the new wells.
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department approves the reductions listed above as
proposed by Ground Zero. Please contact Vicki McCartney at (209) 468-9852 or by e-mail at
vmccartneyla sicehd.com if you have any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Victoria L. McCartney, REHS`  Nuel C.
