Page 10
' IRAP—Pilot Test
Project No. 425.2
March 21,2005
' 4.11 Treatment System Location
' The Soil Vapor Extraction equipment including the Activated Carbon Units will be placed
inside the locked fence. The ozone generator will be placed inside the existing building for
security.
' 4.12 Installation & Startup
' All the OS wells will be plumbed with s flexible Teflon pipes to the ozone generator. The
flexible Teflon pipes will be drawn through 3-inch diameter PVC conductor piping. The
ozone sparging manifold will be divided into two sets. Manifold No. 1 will handle OS wells
from OS-1 thru OS-4 and Manifold No. 2 will handle OS wells from OS-5 thru OS-8.
Appropriate permit(s) from San Joaquin County and SJVUAPCD will be obtained prior to
startup of soil vapor extraction and treatment system. The vapor extraction vacuum will be
' kept low enough to ensure that the vapor extraction system is not causing any affect on ozone
sparing system effectiveness. 4,, 1'
' 4.13 Operation & Maintenance
GTI staff will maintain and monitor the operation of the entire system.
' 4.14 Treatment System Monitoring
' The proposed monitoring schedule is as follows: Note: This monitoring schedule may be
adjusted according to requirements of the SJVUAPCD permit.
' VETS
• Weekly for the first month with monitoring of the VETS effluent by a hand held Organic
' Vapor Meter(OVM). This is to ensure that the effluent levels do not exceed SJVUAPCD
permit levels.
• After the first month, monitoring of effluent by OVM on a monthly basis.
' • One sample will be analyzed per month by a California certified lab.
Ozone SnarQe System
' Inspection events (by GTI staff)will include monitoring of the following parameters:
• all performance functions of the treatment system
• measuring and recording gas flow
' Depth To Water Measurements
• On site and off site monitoring wells will be monitored on a weekly basis for the first
month to ensure that significant groundwater mounding that could spread the
contamination is not occurring.
• Subsequently, on a monthly basis the depth to water will be measured.
