[ CLEARWATER
(' R 0 L P [ \ C
© Hydrocarbon concentration in the air lust above the water level in the
observation wells will be measured with a flame ionization detector or a photo-
ionization detector
The test will be run in steps, each step at a different injected air pressure During
E each step, the following parameters will be measured to monitor the surrounding
formation and determine when flow through the formation has stabilized
0 The induced pressure on the surrounding wells will be measured by
MagnehelicO gauges in itches of water
ia The injected air flowrate will be measured with a Kurz® Model 443 thermal
anemometer, or equivalent.
Once the formation has stabilized, pressures will be increased and the next test step
will begin After the final step test, the depth to water, dissolved oxygen content in
the well water, and the oxygen and volatile content of the air above the water in
each observation well will be measured using the same instruments as above.
6.0 PRO31LEM ASSESSMENT REPORT
6.1 Results of Envestigation
A Problem Assessment Report (PAR) will be prepared following the completion of
the remedial pilot testing discussed in the preceding sections The PAR will contain
a cumulative presentation of the results of the various phases of site
characterization, as well as a detailed analysis of the information collected during
the sparging, vapor extraction and aquifer pilot tests. The report will contain all
requisite figures, cross-sections and cumulative analytical tables.
6.2 Evaluation of Remedial Alternatives
Several alternative methods for remediating site soil and groundwater will be
evaluated for cost effectiveness and applicability at this site based on the hthology,
water table/aquifer characteristics and pollutant properties For remediation of the
groundwater the alternatives will likely include:
0 Enhanced bioremediation (in-situ)
E O In-situ volatilization (air spargmg)
0 Passive monitoring (natural attenuation)
Groundwater extraction and treatment
0 Dewatering
D-107/PILOT TEST WP 6
