Site Code: 1557
Dear Mr. hnfmina:
in August of this year, ATC Associates hie. (ATC) completed an ozone pilot test at the subject site. As part of
the pilot testing activities, groundwater samples were collected on a monthly basis from February through
August from MWI , MW4R, and MW5 through MW7, and analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons.
Consequently, there are recent data for these wells. ATC is planning to conduct the next semi-annual sampling
event in the next two weeks. In light of the recent lab data associated with MW 1 , MW4R, and MW5 through
MW7 and the new CUSTCF budget requirements, ATC requests modification of the existing groundwater
monitoring program such that only MW8, MWI 1 , MW 14, and the domestic wells will be sampled during the
upcoming semi-annual groundwater sampling event. Samples collected from these wells in October of this year
will be analyzed for MTBE and TBA. The samples collected from MW8, MWi 1 , and the domestic wells will
also be analyzed for TPHg. This change in the number of wells sampled for the upcoming semi-an nal event
will help preserve the assigned CUSTCF budget for fiscal year 2011-2012. It is anticipated that the sampling
schedule will revert to the previously established schedule for the semi-annual sampling events that will be
conducted next year such that all the monitoring wells and the domestic wells will be sampled for TPHg,
MTBE, and TBA in the first quarter of 2012. Monitoring wells MWI, MW6, MW8, MWI 1 , and the domestic
wells will be sampled for TPHg, MTBE, and TBA in the third quarter of 2012. Monitoring wells MW7 and
MW14 will be sampled for MTBE and TBA in the third quarter of 2012. If and when an ozone injection
remediation system becomes operational at the site, additional analytes and sampling frequency changes will be
made with regard to some wells as per the California Regional Water Quality Control Board's Monitoring and
Reporting Program No. R5-2008-0149-017 for this site.
If you have questions or comments regarding this letter, please contact our office at (209) 579-2221 .
Respectfully submitted,
ATC Associates hie.
Todd Hafner, P.G.
