' 3.0 FINDINGS
3.1 GEOLOGIC AND HYDROGEOLOGIC CONDITIONS
Soils beneath the site were investigated to a maximum depth of 26 feet bgs during this investigation. In general,
similar Iithologic conditions were encountered at each location explored. Sandy silts to silty sands were
encountered from the surface to approximately nine feet bgs. Silty to clayey peat was encountered to
approximately 15 feet bgs.The peat was underlain by fine sand and silt which becomes coarser at approximately
21 feet bgs.
Groundwater was generally encountered from the surface(in the leach fields to approximately PP xunately a:ght feet bgs
on the levees. Several borings first encountered groundwater as deep as 13 feet bgs. This water may represent
' a separate horizon than the perched groundwater found at shallower depths. The different depths to groundwater
are likely due to the variable ground surface elevations and fill material_
' 3.2 SOIL ANALYSIS RESULTS
King Island
With the exception of boring SB2, soil samples collected from the King Island facility contained no detectable
concentrations of analyzed constituents. Concentrations of benzene, toluene, and total xylenes were detected at
' 0.16,0.069,0.031 ppm respectively in SB2_
Holiday Harbor
' SoiI samples collected from Holiday Harbor contained no detectable concentrations of analytes.
The analytical results for the soil samples collected in January and February are presented in Table 1. Complete
' laboratory results and chain-of-custody records are included in Appendix B.
3.3 GROUNDWATER ANALYSIS RESULTS
King Island
Detectable concentrations of TPHg were reported in samples collected from SBI, SB2, SB14, and S1326.
Reported detectable concentrations of TPHg ranged from 51 Ag/P in SB 14 to 240,000 uglQ in SB26, in the
vicinity of the formerly hand augered hole SB IO(RFSNA).
Detectable concentrations of TPHd were reported in samples collected from SBI, SB2, and SB26. Reported
detectable concentrations of TPHd ranged from 2,200 jtg12 in SBI to 3,000,000 mg11 in SB2, in the vicinity
' of the former fuel pump, in front of the marina store.
h;4aeueclloLhlloidu i.rpt
