Y •
Herman&Helen's Marina
Extension of Report Submittal Date
' August 3,2000
Page 2
3. As described previously, the borings required for the investigation are located on land planted with
corn. Because the schedule directed in your June 30, 2000, letter is requiring that fieldwork commence
within the crop growing season(prior to harvest), arrangements will need to be made with the property
owner to clear the boring locations of corn. Ostensibly, Herman and Helen's Marina would incur the
expense of damages related to the cost of the prematurely harvested corn and the cost of removal.
Accessing the property during the growing season has the potential to further complicate the site access
agreement with the property owner and create further delay.
4. Upon your approval of the above referenced Work Plan Amendment, Condor can procure cost
estimates from three drilling subcontractors for the revised scope of work you have requested. Following
our receipt of the drilling bids, Condor can prepare a cost pre-approval for submittal to the UST Clean-up
Fund (Fund).
5. A boring permit must be applied for and received from the San Joaquin County PHS/EHD. ,
Following completion of the above referenced activities, the work can proceed. I indicated in our
telephone conversation that, in due consideration of the above described tasks, a reasonable projection
for commencing with the fieldwork would be approximately three to four weeks from today(if a drilling
subcontractor can be scheduled with short notice). Assuming this schedule, laboratory analytical results
could be received by Condor in approximately five to six weeks. A report of the findings, therefore, if
expedited, can be submitted approximately seven to eight weeks from today. Therefore,I suggested an
extension of the report submittal date to October 6, 2000. You verbally concurred with this schedule,
offered your assistance in obtaining Fund pre-approval, indicated that you would address approval of the
Work Plan Amendment today, and requested that I prepare this letter. I hope this letter meets with your
approval. Thank you for your attention to this project. If you have any questions or need any additional
information please call us at(209)234-0518.
Respectfully submitted,
CONDOR EARTH TECHNOLOGIES, INC
Donald F.
