SECTION 6 PERMIT REQUIRED 'The Grantee shall not commence the work of laying or consttucting any franchise property under the provisions of this franchise until it shall first have obtained a permit :to -do so from the Director of Pu "ic Works of said-County. ;:(Said"`permit ._shall . bei g,rAnted upon application of'"�the. Grantee, which applica'ti_nn�-shall show the said ?hi'ghways upon which it' is .,proposed to lay or construct said franchise property, the specifications of said franchise property and such other facts as said Director -of Public Works may require. SECTION 7 : NON -INTERFERENCE WITH HIGHWAYS : All franchise property to be. laid, *constructed -and operated under this franchise shall be built and constructed in a good work manlike manner and of first class materials and shall -be located or maintained under this franchise so as not to interfere .with the use - of said highways by the - traveling public •or for public purposes . SECTION 8 : ANNEXATION: -Whenever. any portion of the area covered-, by this franchise: shall be annexed to,-! or otherwise become a part of any municipal . 5 corporation, or of any other' County or of any other political subdivision of- the State of California, the rights reserved under this franchise, tb said County, or- any officer thereof -shall inure . to the benefit'lof such municipal corporation, County or political subdivision, and its appropriate officers . SECTION- 9 : iDISCONTINUANCE, ABANDONMENT, . REMOVAL: . If the Director of Public Works shall determine that it is reasonable and necessary that franchise property be temporarily Cdisc6nnectea- , abandoned, temporarily or permanently removed, temnoracily� or" pErmanently relocated or :substitute facilities F instal°led, 'in order that the County, when acting in a governmental capacity, may. relocate, '- change grade, construct, use, maintain , change or modify any street improvement or County-owned utility facilities , said .Director of Public Works shall give not ce" in writing, to th6 Granted . Within thirty ( 30 ) days after . tne .service of such notice upon the Grantee, the .Grantee shall at its sole cost and expense begin and- diligently prosecute the necessary worx:ito completion. Upon failure to do so, this , Director of Public Works may cause said work to be completed and the Grantee shall .immediately pay - tor the same upon presentation of an itemized account of the cost•. thereot . s In the event that any tranchi'se property is required . to be . abandoned in or permanently removed from any street or -portion thereof afiected ,. the Director cr ,Punlic Works shall approve such f additional street location or locations as may be necessary to I permit the .instal-lation of substitute facilities . -3-
