12/20/95 Request for case closure submitted by Furgo West.
0412-3196 Eight confirmation soil borings drilled these dates by Enviros Inc. Of 29
soil samples analyzed, 4 were positive for TPHg (up to 970ppm) and one
had low concentrations of benzene, toluene, xylenes and MtBE.
05/16/96 Groundwater samples collected this date were analyzed for fuel
oxygenates for the first time, by EPA Method 8020. Five of seven wells
sampled were positive for MtBE at low concentrations.
08/21/96 Soil vapor extraction system shut down.
09/05/96 Confirmation sampling for MtBE analysis by EPA Method 8260 performed
on MW-5 and VEW-3. Results positive; 50 ppb in MW-5 and 4.0 ppb in
VEW-3.
1996-1999 Quarterly groundwater monitoring and.sampling continued at the site.
MtBE analysis continued and it's presence confirmed.' Several meetings
and much discussion occurred during this time period. Regional Water
Quality Control Board has indicated that they ate not willing to close the
site without some party accepting responsibility for the remediation of the
MtBE., Investigative work finally began at the ARCO-station located up-
gradient to this site.
08/18/99 NOR and site letter sent to City of Stockton Redevelopment Agency, the
new property owners.
08/23/99 Record Title Owner letters sent to the three Responsible Parties.
09/18/00 Destruction of all monitoring wells, vapor extraction wells and recovery
wells. Quarterly monitoring and sampling of the wells had continued until
this time.
12/27/01 Request for Case Closure submitted to EHD by Cambria Environmental.
EHD concurs with consultant that MTBE evidenced in monitoring wells
previously existing at this site is from an off site source. EHD determined
that further investigation or remediation by the responsible parties for this
site should not be required. The ARCO site up-gradient of this site will be
required to define their MTBE plume.
f
rJ ,1
N
v
