(AGE), on your behalf
for the above-referenced subject site. In the work plan, AGE proposes to install three
groundwater monitoring wells. Two of the proposed wells will be screened in the depth-
interval identified as Hydrologic Unit HU2 [approximately forty-five to ninety feet below surface
grade (bsg)] and one proposed well will be screened in the depth-interval identified as HU3
(approximately ninety to one-hundred twenty-five feet bsg) at locations illustrated on Figure 2
of the work plan.
The EHD approves the installation of the three proposed off-site monitoring wells located in
the City of Stockton right-of-way to assess the vertical and lateral extent of petroleum
hydrocarbon contamination in soil and groundwater at your site; however, as mentioned by
letter dated 15 April 2010, the EHD recommends the proposed well west of your site be
located west of MW-1A/MW-1B and north of cone penetration test (CPT) boring CPT-4. Two
of the proposed wells will be screened at approximately sixty to sixty-five feet bsg, and one
well will be screened at approximately one-hundred-ten to one-hundred-twenty feet bsg. (The
EHD had conditionally approved the installation of the two wells in the area of CPT-3 by letter
dated 15 April 2010.)
AGE proposes to collect soil samples at five-foot intervals beginning at fifteen feet bsg when
installing the one well to total depth of approximately one-hundred-twenty feet bsg to the north
of your site and installing the well to total depth of approximately sixty-five feet bsg to the west
