Background-information and analytical results of soil and ground water samples collected at the Gateway Project are summarized in the Limited Soil and Groundwater Investigation dated 18 April 2000 and prepared by Condor. The Limited Soil and Groundwater Investigation is presented in Appendix B. � t 3.0. SCOPE OF WORK l -A�aAD� AGE proposes to install two intermediate ground water monitoring w is(Hydrologic Unit 2:HU2) and one deep ground water monitoring well (Hydrologic Unit 3: U3) off-site of the 308 South El Dorado Street, Stockton, CA site, to assess the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water.The proposed well locations are illustrated in Figure 2. The assessment activities will consist of the following tasks: • Permitting and pre-field work activities; • Pilot soil boring and soil sample collection; • Monitoring well installation and development; • Ground water sample collection; and • Report of Findings. r' 3.1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES Applicable boring permits will be obtained.from the EHD for all off-site boring locations. Additionally, a revocable permit and then an encroachment permit will be obtained from the City of Stockton Public Works Department.An update to the health and safety plan presently on-file will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety,and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities(National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration,U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1985).
