DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AGE proposes to advance thre.&pilot_soil boring off-site for installation of groundwater monitoring wells.Wells will be installed using a1ruck-mounted,hollow-stem;drill rig uippedwith_ .25-inch. hollow-stem augers to advance two pilot soil borings-to Approximately.651eet below surface grade (bsg) and one pilot soil boring to-approximately.120.,feet bsg; total depths ofthe well borings may, vary according to hydrogeologic/geologic conditions encountered during drilling..Proposed ground water'monitoring:well locations.-are as'follows: Two pilot soil borings will be advanced across Lafayette.Street near CPT-3 to total depths of approximately,65.feet(HU2) and Qq feet bsg(HU3);,and • One pilot soil boring will`be advanced across El Dorado Street near CPT-4 to a total depth of approximately 65..feet bsg(HU2). , Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Public Health Services (CDPH)-certified laboratory for:the following constituents: • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified_ as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified; and - • Benzene, toluene, eth lbenzene and xylenes (BTEX);.and fuel additives meth .1.tertiary- butyl-ether(MTBE), butyl alcohol(TBA) di.iso;ropyl ether(RIPE ethyl tertiary- butyl ether(ETBE),tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME;1,2-dibromoethane dichloroethane (I,2-DCA)in accordance with EPA Method.8260B. Laboratory reports of soil analysis, testing methods; laboratory qui ality.assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report of findings and recommendations. 3.3. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION,DEVELOPMENT AND SURVEY Two pilot soil borings will be completed as.ground water.monitoring wells.screened from 60 feet to 65 feet bsg; one pilot soil boring will.be completed as a ground water monitoring well screened from 110 feet to 120 feet bsg. However,well screen-placehlentmay be modified in the field based .on lithology encountered in.the borings. Following Installation, the wells will be developed to maximize water flow and minimize.the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the wells during pumping or bailing,and the top of the newly installed well casings(well head)will be surveyed by� a California-licensed surveyor.
