It is Condor's understanding that the
data acquired to date for this site have not been released due to
' litigation. In addition, other industrial activity has been
conducted in the area, including a former rail line that crossed
the SPI site to the northeast. The groundwater gradient measured
' at SPI on March 2, 1994, indicates an east-northeast flow
direction; however, the groundwater levels and flow directions
may have shifted significantly in the past.
7.3 Recommendations
EBased on the information presented in this report, the
limits of gasoline contamination in the soil and groundwater have
not yet been established. Prior to implementation of a site
remediation system (Phase III ) , we recommend that further work be
done to investigate the extent of the soil and groundwater
Icontamination. A site background review should be conducted for
the SPI site and neighboring sites . Historical groundwater data
should be compiled for the local area.
Following the historical review, a work plan should be
prepared to assess the extent of gasoline contamination at the
site. The workplan should be submitted to the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) and the California
Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region
' CONDOR
