Chevron/South El Dorado 10
September 1990
t
A well filter pack consisting of No. 2 Monterey Sand will be
lil
placed in the annular space of each of the wells from the bottom
of the
.boring up to at least- 2-feet above the top of the screened
interval. A 2-foot layer of hydrated bentonite pellets will be
set above the well sand pack. , "The wells will. then be 'sealed to i
the surface using a five-sack cement grout. The wellheads will
be sealed using a locking well cap and protected by a traffic-
rated, water-tight Emco/Wheaton A721 street box.
WELL DEVELOPMENT AND GROUNDWATER SAMPLING
Following installatiori, the 'new wells will be surveyed,
monitored, developed and sampled. Using an established City of
Stockton!'benchmark, the_wellheads of the newly installed wells
will be surveyed for their elevation relative to mean sea level.
Following the wellhead survey, all the wells on site will be
monitored for depth--to-groundwater using an ORS Environmental
Equipment Interface Probe . (IP) .
Once the static groundwater elevation has been measured, the
newly installed monitoring wells- will be developed by surging and
bailing. . The well development 'process will be repeated until the
water recovered from the well is `relatively free of suspended
solids. All purge water will be collected in 55-gallon steel
drums and stored on site for proper characterization and
disposal.'
During the development of 'the newly installed wells, the
previously existing wells 'will 'be purged. by hand bailing a
minimum of four well volumes. After allowing the water elevation
in the hand purged wells and the newly developed wells to
_-__: GROUNDWATER
s_ TECHNOLOGY. INC.
