Groundwater depth: as per the City of Stockton on August 21 , 1989 - 75 feet B. Soil removed : Approximately 25 cubic yards of soil was removed at the time the tank was removed (see drawing "A"). This soil was pushed back into the hole and covered with plastic. Approximately 6 yards of clean fill was placed on top of the plastic at that time to finish filling the hole. C. Excavation History:. Jim Thorpe Oil , Inc. removed a 1 ,000 gallon underground gasoline tank at the above site on July 12 , 1989. See Drawing "B" for layout of former tank and piping. There was a strong odor of gasoline and discolored soil on the west end of the excavation near to the pump and fill end of the tank. Samples were taken by Canonie Environmental . Their laboratory report dated August 1 , 1989, number 85-052-7249, showed "none detected" limits for BTX & E, EDB, Organic Lead, and Total Volatile Hydrocarbons at the east end of the excavation. However, the sample analysis for the west end of the exca- vation showed elevated levels of BTX & E, EDB, and Total Volatile Hydrocarbons.
