iw
9 ,
alb
Aegis Environmental , Inc. Y
February 14 , 1991 NORCAL
,. Page 3
RESULTS
~ The results of the GPR survey are presented on Plate 1 . This is
a plan view map of the site showing the locations of the GPR
f" traverses and the anomalous areas resolved by the GPR data. Also
shown are the surrounding streets and the service station build-
ing.
our interpretation of the GPR data resolves three north-south
trending anomalies that coincide with the locations of the UST's.
These anomalies do not reflect the exact dimensions of the tanks,
but appear to be related to utilities and variations in the
I backfill overlying the tanks. In addition, the areas north and
south of the UST's appear to be anomalous. We attribute these
anomalies to east-west trending utilities that flank the UST's on
the north and south. Finally, our interpretation of the GPR data
resolves several possible utility alignments on the east and west
sides of the tanks. These alignments appear to trend generally
north-south with the exception of one southeast to northwest
alignment. All anomalous areas should be avoided when siting
borehole locations.
STANDARD CARE AND WARRANTY
The scope of NORCAL's- services for this project consisted of
using GPR measurements to explore for underground storage tanks
(UST' s) . The accuracy of our findings are subject to certain
limitations inherent to the techniques used. Under unfavorable
site conditions, some buried objects may go undetected. However,
we performed our services in a manner consistent with the level
of skill ordinarily exercised by members of the profession cur-
rently employing similar methods. No other warranty, with re-
spect to the performance of services or products delivered under
this agreement, expressed or implied, is made by NORCAL.
We appreciate having had the opportunity to provide our services
to Aegis Environmental, Inc. on this most interesting project.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call .
Yours very truly,
1 NORCAL Geophysical Consultants, Inc.
William.
