N hW
Site Background Information : Quick N Save ## 1
Page 4 of 9
EW- 1 ,
J TPH-g was detected in all analyzed samples from EW- 1 at concentrations between
12 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) at 30 feet, and 2 , 600 mg/kg at 40 feet. TPH-g was
detected in VW4 at a depth of 25 feet and at a concentration of 1 .5 mg/kg . BTEX
compounds were detected in all three soil samples from EW- 1 ; maximum concentrations
were detected in the sample collected at 40 feet. Benzene was detected at a maximum
concentration of 16 mg/kg ; toluene at 66 mg/kg ; ethylbenzene at 25 mg/kg ; xylene at 128
mg/kg . Benzene was detected in VW-3 at 35 feet at a concentration of 0 .03 mg/kg .
Ethylbenzene was detected in VW-3 at 25 feet and VW-4 at 25 feet, at concentrations of
0 .014 and 0 . 013 mg/kg , respectively. Xylenes were detected in VW-3 at 25 feet and VW-4
at 25 at concentrations of 0 .028 and 0 . 024 mg/kg , respectively. MTBE was detected in the
sample collected from EW- 1 at 30 feet only, at a concentration of 0 . 78 mg/kg . MTBE was
detected in seven out of the nine samples from VW- 1 through VW-4 , at a maximum
concentration of 0 .31 mg/kg in VW- 1 at 35 feet bsg . 1 ,2-DCA was detected in all three
samples from EWA , at a maximum concentration of 1 .2 mg/kg in the sample from 40 feet .
No other constituents of concern were detected from the laboratory analysis .
Soil Boring Advancements - February 2008
. 1
On 20, 21 , 22 February 2008 , three soil borings (CPT- 1 through CPT-3) were advanced
on-site ; on 26 and 31 March 2008 , one soil boring (CPT-4) was advanced off-site utilizing
CPT technology. Additionally, "grab" ground water samples and soil samples were
collected from selected depths at each CPT soil-boring location to assess the released fuel
- impact on ground water and soil in selected hydrogeologic units . On 21 and 22 February
2008 , four soil borings (B-5 through 13-8) were advanced off-site utilizing a van-mounted
Geoprobe 5400 for collection of soil and grab ground water samples .
Soil samples collected from on-site borings CPT1 through CPT3 reported the following
maximum concentrations :
ISI
• 220 mg/kg TPH-g in sample CPT2-50 .
• BTEX compounds at 4 . 1 mg/kg benzene, 42 mg/kg toluene , 15 mg/kg
ethylbenzene and 125 mg/kg total xylenes, in CPT2-50 .
• 0 . 10 mg/kg TAME(CPT2-50 and CPT2-66 ) and 0 . 86 mg/kg 1 , 2-DCA (CPT2-66) .
Off-site soil samples were collected from CPT4 , B5 and B7 reported the following
i - maximum concentrations :
i
• 6 mg/kg TPH-g in sample 135-5.
Advanced GeoGnvironmental, Inc.
U
