Site Background Information : Quick N Save #1
Page 5 of 9
• BTEX compounds at 0 .022 mg/kg benzene(B5-5) , 0 .080 mg/kg toluene(135-20 and
135-30 ), 0 .022 mg/kg ethylbenzene and 0 . 126 mg/kg total xylenes .
IJ
Eighteen grab ground water samples were collected from borings CPT- 1 through CPT-4
and B-5 through B-8 . TPH-g were reported in samples from on-site borings CPT2-79 ,
CPT2- 125 , CPT3-74 at concentrations of 7 , 500 micrograms per liter (tag/1 ) , 5 , 000 tag/I and
51000 tag/I , respectively. TPH-g was reported in samples from off-site borings CPT4-65 and
135-40 at concentrations of 23 ,000 tag/I and 4 ,500 tag/I , respectively.
Two or more BTEX compounds were reported in samples CPT1 through CPT4, at
maximum concentrations of 460 pg/I benzene , 750 tag/I toluene, 160 pg/I ethylbenzene ,
_ and 980 tag/I total xylenes in off-site sample CPT4-65 .
MTBE was reported in off-site borings 135-40 and 136-40 at concentrations of 4 ,400 tag/I and
'• ) 22 tag/I , respectively.
1- Monitoring and Remediation Well Installations - June and August 2010
1 On 08 through 11 June 2010 , five soil borings (MW5 through MW 10) were advanced at the
site and were single-completed as ground water monitoring wells. On 02 August 2010 , two
soil borings (EW2 and EW3) were advanced at the site and single-completed as dual
phase extraction (DPE ) wells.
Soil borings MW6 and MW8 were advanced on-site to total depths of 40 feet bsg , borings
MW7 and MW10 were advanced on-site to total depths of 80 feet bsg , boring MW5 was
advanced off-site to a total depth of 80 feet bsg , and boring MW-9 was advanced on-site
to a total depth of 105 feet bsg utilizing a CME-75 drill rig equipped with 81/4-inch hollow
stem augers. Soil borings EW2 and EW3 were advanced to total depths of 40 feet and 45
feet bsg , respectively, on-site utilizing a CME-75 drill rig equipped with 10-inch hollow stem
augers.
A total of 19 soil samples collected from pilot borings MW-5 , MW-6 , MW-9 , MW- 10 , EW-2
and EW-3 were analyzed for the constituents of concern . Constituents of concern were
reported in 12 of 19 analyzed soil samples collected from all the above borings except
MW-6 .
TPH-g were reported in samples collected from borings MW9 , MW 10, EW 1 and EW2 at
concentrations ranging between 1 . 0 mg/kg in sample MW9- 100 and 11 , 000 mg/kg in
sample MW9-50 .
J Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
l
