a ,
15 June 2005
AGE-NC Project No. 03 - 1070
as a remedial alternative at the site.
A constant ground water pumping rate for the 24-hour aquifer pumping test will be based on the
results of the 8-hour pumping test and the availability of storage for the produced water. If it appears
that steady state conditions have not been achieved at the end of the 24-hoar test, the test period will
be increased to 48-hours. The pumping test may required up to 72-hours because of the slow
percolation of water the stratified deposit commonly found in the Central Valley alluvial soils. In no
event should the aquifertest be terminated prior to aquifer stabilization, because the limited datamay
not exhibit the nature of the aquifer.
During the 8-hour pump test, grab ground water samples will be taken from the effluent line during
selected portions of the pump-test; approximately every two hours. The ground water samples will
be collected into laboratory-supplied 40-milliliter (ml) volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials
containing 0.5 ml of hydrochloric acid as preservative. Care will be taken to ensure that visible air
bubbles are not present in the vials after filling and capping. Following collection the samples will
be appropriately labeled, placed on ice and kept in a cooler until delivered to a DHS-certified
analytical laboratory for analysis. Chain of custody (COC) protocols will be used to document
sample custody transfer from the field to the laboratory; a COC form will accompany the samples.
All pumping test procedures are described in Section 4.4. ,
3 . 5 , PREPARATION OF REPORT OF FINDINGS
Following completion of the proposed scope of work a report will be prepared presenting the
findings. The report will include a description of work performed and the results of 1 ) soil sampling
and analysis and 2) the pumping test. Conclusions and recommendations will also be included in the
reports, if applicable. The report will be in a format acceptable to the E14D and the California
Regional Water Qualaity Control Board (RWQCB), and will be reviewed and signed by a California
Professional Geologist.
4.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Registered Geologist. Procedures for well installation, development and ground water feasibility
pilot testing procedures are described below.
Advanced GCOEnvironmental, Inc.
