(AGE) , on your behalf for the above-
referenced site. The EHD had directed by letters dated 05 November 2010 and 16 April 2012,
the submittal of a work plan to define the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon
contamination at this site.
Initially, AGE proposes to advance four soil probe borings in the former underground storage
tank (UST) area using direct push technology at locations illustrated on Figure 2 of the work
plan . AGE proposes to:
Collect soil samples from each boring at five-foot intervals to depths between 30 and 50
feet below surface grade (bsg) , or deeper if petroleum hydrocarbon contamination is
encountered ;
Collect grab groundwater samples from each boring ;
Analyze groundwater and selected soil samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPH-g) ; benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) ; di-
isopropyl ether (DIPE) , ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE) , methyl tertiary-butyl ether
(MTBE) , tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME) , tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA) , 1 ,2-
dibromoethane (EDB), 1 ,2-dichloroethane (1 , 2-DCA) and total lead.
AGE proposes a second set of three borings that may be advanced at locations illustrated on
Figure 2 of the work plan if analytical results from the initial investigation demonstrate a
necessity for additional site assessment. The three proposed boring locations are on the
eastern and southern edges of the property and north of the former UST area . AGE proposes
to follow the same procedures for advancing the three borings as used when advancing the
initial four boreholes.
