Install a dual-phase extraction system to begin interim remediation of the contamination in
the vadose zone by soil vapor extraction, and the dissolved contamination by groundwater
extraction.
2. Install one additional groundwater extraction well,E\V-2, to address the groundwater
contamination in the sand unit between 60 feet below surface grade(bsg) to 80 feet bsg,
which is currently not covered by EW-1 (screened 20 to 55 feet bsg) for groundwater
extraction. Obtain appropriate permit from San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department(EHD) for installation of EW-2.
3. Install a thermal oxidizer as treatment of the extracted vapors.
4. Install a granular activated carbon (GAC) filtration system as treatment of the extracted
groundwater and an air stripper of the vapor effluent.
5. Obtain appropriate permits for the operation of the thermal oxidizer unit from San Joaquin
Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District.
6. Obtain appropriate permits from City of Stockton for discharge of treated water to publicly
owned treatment works (POTW).
7.
