r
Dennis Kim ti./
22633 Mount Edan
containers of uncertain use found at depth as great as 12 feet BGS, this
opens the possibility that some contamination, i.e. that encountered in B-5
and PB-2, represents disposed contaminants not related to the UST
release.
• It is not clear that the impacted groundwater encountered in boring PB-2
represents the most impacted groundwater or the margin of a significantly
more serious plume, or that it is related to the former UST release.
• At this time, required site information has not been submitted to the
GeoTracker Database maintained by the State Water Resources Control
Board.
To facilitate EHD's evaluation of the closure request please complete the
following actions:
• Prepare and submit to EHD a site conceptual model (SCM) that includes
maps and cross sections that clearly show the site geology, known
contaminant sources, migration pathways and current contaminant
distribution. Known UST-related contamination should be clearly
demarcated from known non-UST-related contamination; areas of
uncertainty should be noted as such. If the UST-related contamination
cannot be clearly delineated, a work plan to continue the site
characterization should be submitted.
• Submit a work plan to characterize groundwater in the immediate and
down-gradient direction of the former UST pit.
• Submit all required site information to Geotracker immediately.
AGE has submitted a MW destruction permit application for the three on-site
MWs. EHD will not issue a permit until all work is completed and site closure is
granted. Please note that a site closure given by EHD will apply only to the UST-
related impact and not to any non-UST-related contamination.
If you have any further questions regarding this matter, contact Harlin Knoll at
(209) 468-3442.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS Nuel Henderson, PG
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
Cc: SWRCB-Cleanup Fund
CVRWQCB - James Barton
AGE - Bill Little
