i
California Tank Lines, Inc. Page 2
3105 South El Dorado Street June 12, 2009
Stockton, California 95206
Taber Consultants has submitted $404 for the permit application and inspection fee for the off-
site boring. Since the EHD has approved the relocation of this boring onsite, the EHD will
refund the $404 in the form of a credit card reversal. The EHD has received a boring permit
application and inspection fee for the onsite borings and understands that the fieldwork is
scheduled to take place on Monday, June 15, 2009.
Contaminants of concern have been detected at high concentrations in groundwater samples
collected from monitoring wells MW-2 and MW-4 but not in samples collected from MW4 and
MW-3 ; therefore, the EHD approves the following reduction in sample collection:
• Semi-annually collect groundwater from MW-2 and MW4. Analyze the samples from
MW-2 for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) quantified as gasoline (TPH-g); TPH
quantified as diesel (TPH-d); TPH quantified as motor oil (TPH-mo); benzene, toluene,
ethyl benzene, and total xylenes, (BTEX); methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary-
amyl methyl ether (TAME), di-isopropyl ether (RIPE), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), and
1 ,2-dichloroethane (1 ,2-DCA). Analyze the samples from MW4 for TPH-g, BTEX,
1 ,2-DCA, DIPS, and TBA.
• Annually collect groundwater from MW- 1 and MW-3 and analyze the samples for
TPH-d. TPH-g, and BTEX.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this letter, please contact Vicki McCartney
at (209) 468-9852, or by email at vmccartney@sjcehd.com.
Sincerely, J
Victoria L.
