01 July 2008
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0301
analysis. Total depths of borings may vary according to geologic conditions encountered during
drilling. The proposed SVE wells will be advanced utilizing a truck-mounted, hollow stem drill rig
equipped with 10-inch diameter hollow-stem augers.
2.4. SVE PILOT TESTS
An initial 8-hour SVE pilot test will be conducted at the site. The SVE pilot test will be performed
to provide induced vapor extraction data from the proposed SVE well screens (VW- 1 , VW-2 and
VW-3) along with the current monitoring wells MW-6 and MW-7 for evaluation of SVE as a
remedial alternative for this site and/or for the proper design of an SVE remediation system. The
SVE pilot test specifications are presented in Section 3 .4.
2.5 . REPORT PREPARATION
Results of the well installations and SVE pilot test will be presented in a report of findings; based
on the results of the SVE pilot test, a determination will be made whether or not SVE is a feasible
option at the Pacific Pride South El Dorado site; if SVE is determined to be feasible and cost
effective, then AGE will propose a remediation system design in a Corrective Action Plan (CAP);
the CAP will report the above findings for the SVE pilot test. The SVE pilot test report of findings
and/or CAP will be in a format acceptable to the RWQCB (Appendix A guidelines), and will be
reviewed and signed by a California Professional Geologist,
3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Professional Geologist. Procedures for ground water monitoring well, SVE well installation andpilot
test procedures are described below.
3 . 1 . DRILLING
Soil borings will be advanced utilizing a truck-mounted, hollow-stem drill rig and either 8-inch or
104nch diameter hollow-stem augers. Cuttings and rinseate generated during drilling activities will
be containerized in properly labeled Department of Transportation (D. O .T.)-approved 55 -gallon
drums, and stored on-site in an area lacking public access. Disposal alternatives will be evaluated
based on results of soil analysis.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
