E1 Dorado St.
Stockton, CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) has completed the 'review of the "Monitoring
Well Installation Report" prepared by your consultant Geological
Audit Services, Inc. for the above referenced site and has the
following comments.
Soil and groundwater sample results - from monitoring well #1
(MW-1) were positive for petroleum hydrocarbons contamination.
Although MW-1 has identified a problem, the groundwater
contamination plume for this site has not. been adequately
defined.
The full extent of contamination must be physically characterized
in order to design a proper remediation plan. This further
definition should be accomplished by installing and sampling
additional monitoring wells. Placement of these monitoring wells
should be based on gradient determinations. In addition, MW-1 .
should be resampled to ,confirm the results from the June 4, 1992
sampling event.
Should you need additional .information or clarification, contact
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-3442 .
Jogi Kha a, M.D. , .P.H.
Health (icer
a(irie A Co ulla, REHS, Program Manager
nvironmental Health Division
LAC/HK: lb
c: Geological Audit Service, Inc.
1803 W.
