San Joaquin Street
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Pilot Tesdng Report and Conceptual Corrective Action Plan
Manna Pro Facility
4004 South El Dorado
Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Knoll:
Groundwater Technology, Inc., is pleased to submit the attached report on behalf of Manna Pro
Corporation. This report provides:
a The methodology and results of plot testing recently conducted at the Manna Pro
facility; and
■ A Conceptual Corrective Action Plan for remedlating the observed TPH and BTEX-
Impacted soil and groundwater.
The purpose d the pilot testing was to evaluate remedial action technologies that were considered to be
feasible for use at the site. The physical and analytical characterization of the site (based upon previous
site investigation activities, as summarized In this report) was used as the basis for selection of
appropriate technologies.
Based on the results of the pilot testing, a combined grourxfwater extraction and high vacuum soil vapor
extraction system Is proposed for the site. The application of high vacuum extraction (HVE) at the
wellhead of each of 3 proposed groundwater extraction wells is anticipated to significantly enhance
groundwater extraction rates, as well as remove volatile hydrocarbons adsorbed in the aquifer matrix. In
addition, an array of 20 soil vapor extraction points is proposed in the area of the site where the
unsaturated zone soils are impacted. The report provides justification for the location and number of
groundwater extraction wells and vapor extraction points.
A treatment system consisting of air-stripping for groundwater and thermal oxidation (Initially) followed
by granular activated carbon for vapor abatement Is proposed. Discharge of treated groundwater to the
sewer has been authorized by the City of Stockton.
We are beginning to prepare a final design package for submittal to city (POTW) and county (building
department) personnel. We would appreciate your review of this report, so that any comments you may
have can be incorporated In to the final design package.
Offices throughout the U.S.,Canada and Overseas
