Two samples will be taken in each wall of the excavation and four <br /> samples will be taken on the floor of the excavation(Figure 6). The storage of <br /> contaminated soil will be on asphaltic concrete due east of the proposed excavation and <br /> 04 will be covered with visqueen plastic. An aeration permit will be filed with San <br /> Joaquin Air Pollution District by WHF Environmental for remediation of the stored <br /> soil. <br /> 5.0 SOIL SA.WLING <br /> Sampling will be conducted under the direction of San Joaquin Environmental Health <br /> Department by a State certified laboratory. All soil sampling equipment will be <br /> thoroughly cleaned before and between sampling to prevent cross contamination. The <br /> laboratory samples will be taken with clean brass tubes and immediately sealed, without <br /> head space, using aluminum foil lined caps. <br /> Soil samples collected for analysis will be analyzed using EPA method 8015 modified <br /> �., for total petroleum hydrocarbons, EPA method 8020 for BTX&E compounds, and total <br /> lead. <br /> ,.o 60 LIMITATIONS <br /> This work plan is site specific to the former underground storage tank area and does not <br /> address any other area on the Manna Fro site. The scope of this work was defined by <br /> lab data supplied by others. Modification may be required when subsurface conditions <br /> a; become known. This work plan has been prepared to the standards and practices of the <br /> industry and will be performed under the guidance of a registered geologist. <br /> .4 <br />
