The fumigant, methyl bromide, was also used for fumigation.
Ones these compounds were identified, only two were of concern, Avitrol and
Pival. Avitrol is used to impregnate whole corn to used as bait. Pival is used in
water to poison water for water bait solution.
A soil sample was collected in an arca where several dead rodents were observed
during the site investigation (Figure 3). This soil sample was analyzed employing
the EPA method for the two (2) compounds Avitrol ad Pival.
The analytical results indicated nothing detected at the method detection limits for
these compounds(Appendix Q.
Underpmund Storage Tank(US') (Undisturbed Sample)
This facility has six (6) underground Peel storage tanks. Thr (3) 10,000 gallon,
. two(2)5,OD0 gallon and one(1) 5,700 gallon single wall steel Mb. Five(5)of
the undergraund storage tanks are loud at the fuel point to the northwest of the
Property(Figure 5), throe(3) 10,000 gallon and two(2)5,040 gallon tanks. The
-- single 5,700 gallon tank is located to the east side of the facility just south of the
1,000 INA power sub-station (Figure 3).
During the inspection and preliminary records r-view in early January 1994, some .
discrepancies were noted in the testing-arid permitting-rtquiraments_for_the-tucks.— _— -- -
- In further review we found that tank testing records. prior to 1986 were non-
existent. Tank testing from 1986 indicate that the 5,7400 gallon M*used for
boiler fuel(diesel) failed testing due to a line failure. The failed line was re;nired
— and retested in early 1967 and passed. All other testing on all tinks pawd as
required in the 1985 and 1989 testing. Permits for 1959 have trot been, as of yet,
issued because of incomplete records provided to San Joaquin County Local Health
District. 1990 permit fees and tank testing are corning due for.this site.
