Gilbert, Inc. to conduct a <br /> Phase II Environmental Assessment of the property Imown as 4004 South Eldorado Street <br /> in Stockton, California (Figure 1). This request is based on the outcome of the Phase I <br />' Assessment conducted earlier in January 1990. <br />' The following is a complete accounting of the Phase II Facts and Findings and the data that <br /> supports those findings. <br /> � ME= B <br /> ?nor to 1954 this was zoned far agricultural use A2 The general area is <br /> ProPenY � ( ) <br /> bordered to the west by the U.S. Highway 50, to the east by the Union Pacific and <br /> Southern Pacific Railroads common lines To the north apprommately 1/4 miles of thus <br /> site is the braking rail yard for both aforementioned raulroad compatues To the south was <br />' flat open agriculture land. <br /> In 1954 General Mills International acquired this parcel of land and construcnon permits <br /> were issued by San Joaquin County (Figure 2), <br /> In 1956 Carnation Corporation acquired ownership of this site and operated the mill until <br />' the early 1961's. From that tune until the spring of 1966 the mull stood idle with muvmal <br /> mauitenance performed. In the spring the mill reopened under a cooperative effort as <br /> Stockton Millmg Company. <br /> In 19$5 the property and milling operations was acquired by Manna Pro, a Los Angeles <br />' based corporation. <br /> Currently this property and its milling operations arc being offered for sale by the current <br /> owner, Mantra Pro. <br />
